I loathe unsweet tea.
Like, I completely despise it.
If you come to my house and I offer you tea, it goes without saying that I mean sweet tea.
And not just "sweet" but kick-you-in-the-mouth, this-might-give-you-diabetes, two-cups-of-sugar-per-gallon sweet.
Recently, I started to steep some tea to make a fresh pitcher and realized we were almost out of sugar.
I still made the pitcher but yesterday I dumped it because who drinks that?!
Is that too wasteful?
Do you like unsweet tea?
If you do, why?

I also hate unsweet tea, but I don't like the southern version of sweet tea either. Lol I like slightly sweet tea or tea sweetened with honey. To each his/her own I guess ;)
ReplyDeleteSo what is "slightly" sweet tea? Because I used the rest of the sugar making the pitcher in question, but it was less than half a cup and it just did not cut it.
DeleteI use 2/3 c. in a gallon. I've been gradually cutting it down, lol
DeleteGo you! I'd rather just not make it if it's not going to be sweet enough. Haha!
DeleteGirl, you know I make me some SWEET tea. But with my new lifestyle I don't get to enjoy it very much. I am learning to appreciate the actual taste of things instead of a sugar coated version. Does that make sense? Don't get me wrong...I love me some sugar and sugary things, but with a new mindset, I can see how people could like unsweet tea! I drink my coffee black now, and I never thought I would see that day. Lol Either way. You do you! Enjoy that sweet tea, like a southern lady should!
ReplyDeleteOh, I don't. I tried 3 times to pour myself a glass and drink it, and I couldn't make it to the bottom. I'd rather just have water. I guess if you're just going for the caffeine? I don't know, but I also understand that I can't have tea every day because I'd blow up like a balloon in a month! Haha! How's month 2 of the new lifestyle going?
DeleteGoing well! 1st week of the body transformation challenge, the detox was the worst. But now I am back to a regular food diet. Never thought I could miss protein so much! 😂
DeleteI go for the fruit or berry herbal teas, unsweet. The black teas need a splash of lemon, but still no sugar. Yes, I grew up in Florida, but we drank water. I didn't start drinking tea until I moved Northeast, and there they don't usually sweeten their tea.
ReplyDeleteBut I'm not big on sweets in general. I like more sour and salty items. Except for brownies—but even those need some nuts in them, for that added bit of salt. Oh and now I want a brownie-and none to be found. bummer. lol
Sometimes I'll drink flavored herbal teas unsweetened if they're hot, but if it's cold, I like it sweet. Sorry there were no brownies around! :)
DeleteNO
ReplyDeleteHaha! Well, I guess we all know where I get it from then!
DeleteI will appreciate this about you forever.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteNo really. Thank. You.
:)
