A Word for Wednesday

"Conceal your wounds when you have any;
silence is the last joy of the unhappy.
Beware of giving anyone the clue to your griefs;
the curious suck our tears as flies suck the blood of a wounded heart."

~from The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas~

  1. Wow! Profound. However, within the body of Christ we can find trustworthy souls who will help us bear our burdens to the Throne.

  2. This quote is TRUTH. #LifeTruth In a perfect world, this would not be a reality, but sadly, it is. I've always been a "wear my heart on my sleeve" type of person, but there have been times where I've seriously had to hold my tongue about ANYthing happening in my life, because I don't want my tears to be vampire-sucked out of me by some sadistic soul. Too depressing? Probably.

    1. Sad. But I hope I'm one of those "trustworthy souls" (see above comment) who helps you bear your burdens instead of being a life-sucker. <3
