Casual Fridays

Well, yesterday my wisdom teeth came out. As I'm writing this post on Wednesday in anticipation of not feeling like being a part of the land of the living, I have no idea how it went, but I imagine I'm probably lying on the couch right about now, watching a musical, and ringing a tiny silver bell signaling my ever-patient husband to bring me some more chocolate pudding. Or I'm in Heaven with Jesus because I didn't wake up from the anesthesia. We'll find out.

Anyway, Happy Friday to you and here are three PhotoGrid collages to send you on your weekend.
First of all, I finally got my beach day! Last Friday, right after I published this post complaining about how it still hadn't happened, my boss texted me saying she wasn't bringing Little Man, and I immediately threw some sunscreen and one of my favorite books in a beach bag and started driving east. I couldn't have asked for more perfect weather or for a more perfect day. #iloveflorida #westcoastisNOTthebestcoast #eastcoastgirlforevaaaaa
Back at the end of April (yes, it's been a solid month since this actually happened--have I mentioned how crazy it's been??), I got to go to LPL with my BFF Christina. This year, Ms. Beth talked about the blessed EMBRACE: what it means to embrace something, things we should embrace, and things we shouldn't embrace. No secret Siesta photo this year, but we almost made the recap video! If you pause it at 2:14, we were literally standing right next to that girl. To her left, if you must know. So that's....well, that's nothing really, but as always it was a wonderful, uplifting weekend.
And finally, my sweet niece had her first birthday recently! I try to tell them that growing up is not actually allowed and also it's highly overrated, but to no avail. Auntie Hannah loves you, baby girl!

What are you up to this weekend? You are welcome to come mock my bruised and swollen face as long as you come bearing Boston Market mashed potatoes or sweet potato casserole.

  1. Get well soon! I had all four of mine out about 10 years ago, and I watched an 8 hour version of Nicholas Nickleby by the Royal Shakespeare Company. Eat all the pudding, mashed potatoes, and Wendy's Frostys that you can. When Ean had his out, he insisted on eating regular food right away...glad it's a one time procedure and we won't repeat that incident. Men.
Love that you got your beach day! I went hiking earlier this week and am now burned, so I'll be putting off a beach trip til that heals. This weekend - a farewell for the battalion commander and his family at a golf course tonight, shopping and getting out of the house during a scheduled 8 hour power outage (don't get me started), and Filipino Sunday at church. Ean will be leaving for a training exercise soon, so boo on that. Usually that means FaceTime calls with people back home, reading more, exercising randomly at night, watching lots of BBC shows, and cooking for one.

    1. Baahahaha! Your comment about Ean's wisdom teeth experience really cracked me up! I've been wanting real food SO BAD, but it's definitely not worth it. LOTS of pudding and mashed potatoes for me. :)

      8 hour power outage--WHAT?!

    2. So, the grid in Hawaii is super old, and they keep doing these regularly scheduled outages to do upgrades...and then there's been a construction project down the road, so they shut off power for that occasionally too. We have an outage once a month or every other month. It's ridiculous. Then there are the outages that aren't scheduled, which could last anywhere from a few minutes to hours. It's fun stuff.

    3. Oh my goodness, that sounds entirely frustrating!

  3. Oh, sibling banter. I love it. And I love the pictures of us from LPL! What a great weekend! Sorry you're still in pain. Oh, the struggle. At least you NEVER have to have your wisdom teeth taken out again - woohoo!!! :D

    1. LPL was so fun! And I thought it was funny when I was making that collage that in all our pictures, you're on the left and I'm on the right--even when Cody was taking the pictures of us in our Living Proof tees. Haha!

And yes, I've told myself that more than once since Thursday: this is a one-time deal. And I WILL be able to eat real food again someday!
