Casual Fridays

If my memory serves me correctly, I have never been allergic to anything. But here I am, getting closer to 30 than I'm comfortable with, and all of sudden, I'm suffering from allergies. And here's what I've discovered:

allergies suck

My sincerest apologies go out to all of you who have battled the pollen every year for as long as you can remember. I truly, truly am sorry because this is the worst, and I'm genuinely hoping this is some kind of fluke and next year I'm normal again.

I'm also sorry that we are now at two Casual Fridays in a row with no book discussion in between, but that's the nature of life right now. Just crank your favorite jam, dance it off, and send me all the allergy remedies you can think of.

Has anyone else developed allergies later in life? Why is this a thing??

  1. Eat a lot of honey. Local honey. It's science.

  2. I TOTALLY did when we moved to Louisiana.
I'm not big into the drugs, but Allegra was my best friend for about two months out of every year.

    1. Claritin, Allegra, and Zyrtec seem to be the popular ones. We got a lot of rain this week and I'm having less trouble, but if the crazy flares back up, I may have to seek out pharmaceutical help.

  3. I use Zyrtec and nasal spray. I developed my alergies later in life too.
On a completely unrelated note, I started reading Anne Bronte's novels, and I like her better than her sisters. You should read Agnes Grey sometime.

    1. I've heard good things about Agnes Grey before. I need to find it and read it. Cody and I always go to Barnes&Noble on our anniversary and pick out new books so maybe that's the one I'll look for this year. Thanks for the tip!

  4. I just started with allergies this year too. I wake up everyday with a stuffy nose, my lungs itch when I cough and I always have to clear my throat. It does seem better when it rains so I've been good the past few days. Also, it makes getting over colds much harder!! The honey hut on Dundee Rd has really good honey. You just drive up and go in and out your money in a bucket and take your honey. Pretty neat!

    1. Yeah, I've noticed that all the rain has calmed mine down too. I need to go get some more honey soon though!

  5. Also, at our next best friend day, we should take turns sharing videos we enjoy on youtube with each other. Should I be making a list? I feel like I should make a list.

    1. Make the list. Also, it makes me happy when you go on a catching up commenting spree on my blog. It's probably better than you just consistently commenting as I post because I never know when it's going to happen and then I get like a million comments. Haha!
