A Word for Wednesday

"For love is a flower that grows in any soil, works its sweet miracles undaunted by autumn frost or winter snow, blooming fair and fragrant all the year, and blessing those who give and those who receive."
~from Little Men by Louisa May Alcott~

  1. Three things I noticed and love about this quote:
    1) Love grows in any soil. No matter what kind of environment someone is in, they can choose to love.
    2) Love works miracles even in frost or snow. Love is not some fragile thing that withers at the first sign of adversity. Maybe what that person thought was love was simply affection or attraction. True love is a miracle :)
    3) Love, like forgiveness, blesses both the giver and the receiver. There have been so many times I've selfishly demanded "love" while refusing to give it because it takes humility and sacrifice. But once you truly love someone, it blesses you as well.

  2. Lovely! I'm reading Little Women for the first time, and I'll probably read some of her other books as well!
